So it is with a very saddened heart that we will be saying farewell once and for all to our little Charlie Brown tree. This was a gift to Tino for his first Christmas. For the last several Christmases we have said "this is the last Christmas" for Tino's tree. Last year, every time a branch fell off I would just throw it away in the garbage instead of trying to reapply the branches as I had done for the previous 2-3 Christmases. Last year, we decided to keep Tino's tree for one more year "just in case". So glad we did. The kids would have been very bummed to have a brand new tree with absolutely NO gifts under the new tree. Instead, we opted for Tino's tree one more year so the kids could have a gift or two.
Tomorrow Tino's tree will go where ever little Charlie Brown trees go that tilt to one side, are missing more than half its branches, etc. (And NO, unfortunately Tino's tree will not be around when Los Tres Reyes Magos /3 Wise Men visit us on January 6.) Now a moment of silence to ponder all the Christmas memories Tino's tree brought to us. Farewell, adieu, and may we meet again.
P.S. Sarah was the guest "undecorator" of the bottom 3rd of the tree. It got to a point that when she took ornaments, bows, etc. off the tree and handed them to me, instead of me putting them back on the tree, I just started putting them away in the storage boxes. It has made the after-Christmas clean-up a whole lot easier.
