Friendly Holiday Greetings to my Blogging Buddies

Dear Heather, Jessica, and Gab,

Last week Tino told me he wished I was one of "those moms" that loves to bake. I used to be one of "those moms" . . . until two other Ramirez children were added to the mix. I don't enjoy the mess, the drama, fishing out egg shells from batter, the salty taste of baked goods when Mateo decides to use salt in a recipe instead of sugar . . . (it looks the same right???) So I guess what I'm trying to say is next time you decide to bake fun Christmas cookies . . . or anything for that matter, my eldest son Tino would like to be adopted and be in your family. Or at least remember to invite him to come to your house while you are doing your baking so he can pretend that he has one of "those moms". Because this is what holiday baking looks like at our house.

With sugar and spice and everything nice,

Heidi

P.S. Tino asked me if I would please follow the recipe next time I try to make sugar cookies. But I know you won't have distractions in your kitchen when he goes to your house. Thanks in advance for following the recipes. :0)

Heidi, you and me, we need to stick to pillsbury dough. It makes every kids fantasy come true.

Ready?
While the kids are "occupied" do like the cooking shows and make everything already premeasured and ready to go. (Its like the only time I use my 14 nesting bowls from W&S). that way you don't have to turn your back on the process while you go get one more thing. And relax about the mess.

Then you MUST use this recipe. don't mess with any others.
1 c marg
2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
5-6 cup flour

.350 10 minutes or longer

I would love to adopt your son! He's potty trained, right?

I like to cook...so my kids join in. I do not like to coach soccer, go to Mommy and Me, push them on swings, get my hair wet at the pool or fingerpaint. So I will send my four to your house for those activities!!

WE ARE DOING SUGAR COOKIES TOMORROW! It's only, probably, a 7 hour flight. We'll wait for him!

(And your kids will have less weight and sugar issues, because they won't be constantly tempted by the preparation and consuming of sweets!)

I'm laughing still about Gab's comment.

As for Jessica's comment, HAL is screwed. We bake a lot around here. And if I don't have anything at MY house then all it takes is a short down the street to the Sista's house.
