So I'd like your input regarding children's television. As you know, we cut our cable in April of 2006 and still haven't gotten it back. (To make it through that challenging day, we tried to remain distracted and spent a lovely day at Animal Kingdom with Brad and Abigail Maude.) We depend on the library for our entertainment since we aren't high tech and can't figure out how to download shows like Brad does. So I'd like to know, which show highly annoys you and gets under your skin the most between Dora, Dora, Dora la Exploradora and The Backyardigans?
Yes, I am a Licensed Kindermusik Educator, but this Backyardigans singing everything for the entire show and repeating the annoying singing has GOT TO GO. (P.S. That's my vote.)

Boy the shows kids watch sure have changed since you cut the cable over a year ago. I'll give you our kids favorites and you should be thankful that you don't have cable.
1) Cribs-MTV program that highlights the life of the rich and famous rock and rap stars. R.J. keeps asking me if he can get some grillz for his teeth.
2) Blind Date-Shows the ups and downs of two strangers trying to find an eternal match. Since dating until 16 is a strict rule in our home, Maddie has really embraced this show and can't wait to be a contestant.
2) Dr. 90210-Me must monitor Payton's viewing of this. The marathons are an absolute bear to tear her away from the t.v.
He's Lying!!!!
We just stick to the basics that PBS offers--although Amelia is now getting to the age of being intrigued by Caliou. Boo Caliou you stupid, whiny, brat. Does it make me racist that I hate Dora? Stop repeating. I likes me some backyardigans.
Dem bones, please and thank you, I like it all.
I like both of them. Unfortunately, Blake only watched them for like two months and then moved on to more sophisticated shows like SpongeBob and Drake and Josh, so I miss cute, innocent shows.
Have you caught Wonder Pets? You would like that. They sing rescue songs to the classics - and by classics I mean Beethoven and Mozart. But super annoying to anyone over the age of 4.
Payton's new Fav is "YO Gaba Gaba" (Nick Jr.) Check it out. Very fun music to dance to. Payton loves the Black Guy. I am kind of partial though, friends of mine created it.
My kids watch at some point of the week or day each of those shows. Backyardagins is deceptivly evil. You watch it once and say wow that was pretty good and nice harmony etc, The next thing you know it is just grating.
If you are looking for a new show that appeals on some level to adults and children, you should watch "Yo Gabba Gabba". It is smart and has catchy tunes but does not dumb down too much. I have to admit that I am somewhat biased because my cousin is a co creater of the show, so I am happy that it is doing well.
